Jamie and I had a quick look at how universities brand their mentoring schemes for a student audience. Astons is quite dry, UWE is a little bit more funky but they both share pretty much the same characteristics: stripped down language and graphics, very succint explanations of benefits, responsibilities etc. The language used is "down with da kidz" but is fairly formal without being academic. We have tried to bear this in mind when we were creating an advert for students (see Jamie's post to come soon) and will have to do so when creating content for this future mythical website/blog.
