Just thought I'd put up an example of how we can advertise the training day to students...this isn't edited so would probably need to change...it could form content for eventual website.

Once you have successful been accepted/enrolled/employed as a mentor you will receive initial training as well as continued support throughout the scheme. This training will include advice on how to organise group sessions, how to actively engage with your mentees and identify what style of learning suits them best, how to listen etc.

§ what mentoring is and the benefits it offers
§ the AMP Scheme and the expectations of those involved
§ the skills and behaviours that an effective mentor should display
§ how to use the essential tools of a mentor
§ what your personal objectives of taking part in the scheme are
This course is aimed at anyone who wants to become a mentor with the mentoring scheme.
